The Illusion of Light

Consider This:
It is self-evident that the brain, which processes light, does so in complete darkness. Not one photon of light ever goes beyond the retina. In fact, only about 10% of all photons that arrive at the eye ever make it to the retina.

The photons are then absorbed by light absorbing pigments that chemically trigger signals that are transmitted to the optic nerve. A nerve carries data through the complete darkness of the brain, and then reassembles the information in the primary visual center of the brain, located in the occipital lobe at the back of the brain. The brain doesn't actually SEE anything. Only chemical and electrical impulses can SEE. And the question is, is everything being reconstructed properly?

So knowing this, ask yourself if what you see before you, is real, or a well processed illusion. Do you really see the way things are, or are we believing a distorted reality of another sort? Are our eyes trustworthy?

Everything that we all see, is actually taking place BEFORE our brains process it. That is, if a light flashes, it takes the brain one-tenth of a second to realize it has happened. There is a one-tenth of a second DELAY before we are aware of the light flash. So in essence, we are always seeing things one-tenth of a second in the past. That is about the length of time it takes for a normal eye to blink. Watch the cursor on your computer screen - every time you think you see it blink, you are already one full blink behind. That is, the cursor has already blinked again while you're just becoming aware of the first blink.

How easily can our minds be tricked?
Think of a 3-D movie; with only a pair of glasses that delivers different data to each eye, the brain thinks images are coming off the screen. Observe the light in the room, and how bright it is. All of that illumination you are seeing is taking place in the darkness of the brain via chemicals and electrical nerve signals. The brain's understanding of geometry and physics that has been trained into it has allowed the reconstruction of the room for you. Was it done correctly?
The trickery of our vision has been taking place from birth - we call it our blind spot. The blind spot is the lack of light detection from the photoreceptor cells on the optic disc. This causes part of our visual area to not be perceived, so the brain extrapolates fill-in visuals from the areas that are illuminated, in order to make the picture complete. In other words, we see things that aren't really there on a regular basis. In fact, your brain adds, very substantially, to the report it gets from the eyes, so that a lot of what you see is actually "made up" by the brain.
The brain processes information from the eyes the same way it does when you dream. Except, one source contains a lens, rods, cones and nerves - while the other source, during sleep, comes from someplace else. Ask yourself this - are we really dreaming with our eyes open, and wide awake with our eyes closed? Do you believe everything you think you see?
It all comes down to seeing what we want to see. Since we do not actually know what is all around us, except for what chemicals, nerve signals and what the translation of it all by the brain tells us, we cannot say for sure what is real and what is illusion. Are you sure the wall in front of you is solid? Are you certain that you can see every possible color that exists? The eyes cannot process infrared light - that means that whatever else is taking place in that area of the light spectrum, you would never know about it, even if it took place right next to you.
A human's visual light spectrum is only a fraction of what exists. How surprised you may be to find out that your dearly departed are merely inches from you as you read this; you just cannot see them because they are operating in a part of the light spectrum that your current body cannot absorb. They are not waaaaay out there. They simply require a different method of interpretation by the brain in order to be SEEN.

Let me say it like this: There's a whole lot more out there than meets the eye.
The one thing I have noticed over the years is - hardly anything is as it APPEARS to be.

Where The Soul Lives

Just so you know; there are no hidden agendas or motives for your life. You can stop trying to figure it all out since everything you could ever wish to know is available to you right now.
But how does one access this bounty of information?

Do you remember the part in the bible that says, "...be still and know that I am God?"

Well, the same is true for you. That is, you must be still, quiet and be able to not think too much, so that the most subtle of notions can be detected as they pass through you.

There is never a moment when the Soul neglects It's body, or hides data from it. It is simply that we are all too busy in our minds, most of the time, to determine what is being given to us.

Just be still and in utter calmness; allow peace to wash over you, for that is where the Soul lives; therefore, that is where the human mind must go to pay a visit.

Go there...soon.

Money

Money cannot be the root of evil since money is an inanimate object. It does not have a consciousness and cannot make decisions. Evil is not a thing of itself; it is merely a description for a type of action or behavior. Therefore, to do (evil), a decision has to be made by an entity consciously able to do so. By this understanding, people are the only ones capable of being the root of any cause. Blaming corrupt or unfortunate happenings on rootless objects takes the responsibility of the (evil) deed from the perpetrator and leaves the circumstance un-improvable since money, or other objects, cannot learn lessons and make corrections. If people continue to believe that money has "torn" them apart, then no remedy can ever be found to change current or future outcomes until they have acknowledged that it was they that misused the money - the money did not misuse the people.

Since we are living in a money-market economy, money is the tool by which we trade one service or commodity for another and nothing more. There is no reason to avoid the making of money or to believe that money will corrupt you or turn you into someone that you are not since money is powerless except for the power we mentally give it.

Until we, the people, decide to use another type of economy to build our lives by, money will be the primary source by which material things are acquired. There is no reason to fear or despise this process; it is what it is - until it isn't.

But when we are ready to make a Divine shift in our thinking, money will no longer play a part because the value of seeing our neighbors and fellow world travelers fulfill their grandest visions will become more valuable than money ever was. We will be driven by the desire to better ourselves and all that come after us and money will not fit into that design because money is a self serving entity. That is because, the only way money can have value is if some people have it and others do not.

If everyone on the planet had an equal amount of money, then no money would be valued because there would not be the 'have and have not' paradigm. In other words, the 'haves' could not trade their money to the 'have nots' for services, thus, making all money worthless.

So really, money cannot be the answer to your prayers since money obtains all of its power from our desire to have it. And desires emanate from one place and one place only - Our Minds / (Soul). Therefore, if in your mind, you believe you need money to answer all of your prayers, then you shall not have it because you have displaced Your power into that of something that has absolutely no power.

But if you believe you are Power Itself, then everything that is required to fulfill that vision you have about yourself will come to you, including money, because money is the current tool by which power is expressed. If money did not exist, then the tool of power that was in use at the time would fall at your feet.

Remember, All Power comes from you. Not from inanimate objects. Those are simply the things we project our power onto; like a projector onto a screen. Its power is all an illusion.

A Gift From Another Spirit

About a year before the writing of my book, Living In Consciousness, I found myself in a deepened dream state after a meditation period just before I went to bed. I was flying through the streets of a town I had not been to in my physical life. This was nothing since I have always been able to fly in my dreams.
The date was unknown to me, but everything resembled a small mining type town from the eighties. This evaluation was based on the older model cars that sparsely lined the mostly abandoned streets, and the old, un-kept building exteriors that seemed to have degenerated through the years.
I could see people here and there, walking about, but they paid no attention to me hovering above. As I flew down what appeared to be main-street, I could tell I had no physical body. I noticed that every time I wanted to look at something, I couldn’t feel the skin of my neck stretching or my bones maneuvering. I simply could see all that I wanted to without effort.

All of a sudden, I was before another old building structure that I had never seen. I found myself flying right through the walls to the inside where I was instantly inside of a small, partially illuminated room. I stopped moving but was still hovering; there was a small crowd of people below me, sitting in chairs. They never looked up, but I don’t think they could have seen me if they had. Their portion of the room had no lights on, but directly ahead of them was another room that was lit, and to the right of both areas was a narrow, wooden, dark staircase that went straight up into an attic. I couldn’t see the attic, I just felt it.
The two areas were separated by a glass that nearly went floor to ceiling; and on the inside of the glassed area were four other people. Three of them wore uniforms and surrounded the fourth; a woman who was strapped to a narrow body-length board; there was one person at the head of the board, and one on each end of an outstretched arm. The board had small wing type add-ons where the woman had her arms strapped as well. The strapped woman was in her late thirties to early forties. Her head was turned hard to the right as two of the other people did something to her left arm. She did not want to watch what they were doing.

I floated right through the glass and held still directly over the woman’s face on the board. The light from the room was very bright and made her face seem ghostly pale. I never saw anyone’s lips move, but I knew what they were all saying.
The woman on the board was asked by one of the others, “Do you have anything to say?”
The woman, in a pleading way, answered, “I’m innocent! I’m innocent!”
And almost before her sentence was finished, her cheeks sunk in and the life force left her. Now this gets tricky to explain without sounding like I am contradicting myself, but I saw the woman unattach her spirit from her body; but at the same time I could not see her spirit. It was more like, I just knew she left – it was a knowing that I knew so absolutely, I felt I could see her.

She immediately shot up the staircase to the right, and like an innocent, lost puppy, I glided right up the stairs behind her. I had no idea why I followed, but when I crested the threshold of the doorjamb, I was ambushed by the woman from my right side. Even though I did not have a body, she attacked me as if I did.

Let me explain.

I was sailing right through the door after her, when the darkened attic came into view. There was just enough light coming from somewhere so that I could make out corners and ceiling height. But no sooner than I saw the light, I was engulfed by a force of rage that was, for a moment, unbelievable. I was flipped through the air like a rag-doll, completing a somersault and landing on my back. Of course, I really had no back, but I had all of the principles of a back; the properties of having a body were still with me.
I did not hurt at all when I landed on the floor at the furthest part of the attic away from the woman. I had to tilt or hyper-extend my head backwards in order to “see” who had just thrown me. By that view, the room was upside down. I could see she was still by the door, watching me. Keep in mind that she had no body either, but I could still “see” her “looking” at me. And she was more furious than words could ever describe. She was huffing and puffing, with no lungs. She fumed with so much power that if she had the ability to “kill” me, it would have been like a fifty-thousand pound weight smashing a butterfly.
But she didn’t actually want to hurt me. She wasn’t mad at me. She was just super angry and I could still feel the words coming out of her, “I’m innocent, I’m innocent!”

I knew the truth of her. She really was innocent of something, but I didn’t know of what. She was furious that she was removed from her body without anyone believing her innocence.
Every molecule in the room was saturated with this woman’s vengeance and it permeated me as well; I could feel it with her, as though I was her. I wasn’t afraid, but if I could have felt fear in that realm, I knew I would have been terrified; and that isn’t a word I use lightly. But then, after several moments of her venting her anger into the room, I began to feel her anger dissipate. She was slowly losing the angry emotion. I felt as though she was slowly realizing how things were going to be for her.
There was no gap in emotion; that is, as the anger left, it was instantly replaced by a perfect peace. To say it better, it was like peace was chasing away the anger; and I could see that for her to transcend that room, she could not be in a state of rage. But the knowledge of who she now was neutralized her rage.

Words simply fail to express it precisely.
I continued to lie on the floor and watch her until I felt her anger was completely gone. She just looked at me and she knew I understood. Almost as quickly as her anger slipped away, so did her essence. I watched her invisible essence become absorbed into the ether around her – and she was gone. When she left, there was not one single drop of hate in her, or the room I was in. I couldn’t feel her any longer. She went some place that I was not aware of in my current state of awareness.

I arose from the floor and started out of the room and was transported back to my room and woke up. For a moment, I didn’t know where I was. The attic area of my dream and the room I was actually asleep in were blended together; but slowly the dream visual faded until I could see only my room, and I took in a deep breath. After I realized where I was, a streak of panic came over me and the dream suddenly felt like a nightmare. I found it strange that I was not afraid when I was with her. I can only say the situation seemed very serious and heavy. But looking back, the entire event only seemed to take a few moments.
It was at that same time in my own life that I was having anger issues towards things; my anger was very old. Perhaps from my childhood and the lack of family I always felt I had. This woman allowed me to see how letting go of every ounce of anger can bring perfect peace, while at the same time, she showed me that, as long as I held onto even one molecule of anger, I was holding myself back; I would not go anyplace else in my life – and the place I was trying to reach was the revelation of my own enlightenment. To realize my own enlightenment, I had to let go of my fire and resentment towards everything. What a gift she had given me.

The Metaphor

Religion was once a town that I walked through. It took me a long time to find my way out of the city limits since most modes of transport within the town of religion only made circles within itself.

This was a rather unique town as there were no speed limit signs; only thought limit signs. The local Library of Religion was elaborate with giant stone columns leading to the interior, where the librarians said they have the answers to everything. The only problem was they never allowed any questions to be asked.

After I had found my way out of the town, the road that lay ahead was empty; but not empty with despair. It was empty like a clean slate - with endless possibilities because nothing had been pre-written. There were no limitations pre-set by someone else; and there was no one there that was interested in scaring me into following their ways.

As I stood with one foot inside of the city limits and one on the road ahead, I wondered just how crazy I must be to turn away from all the town and its people had trained into me. There was a road sign next to me that read: Proceed With Caution.

Then, as I peered back at the long and winding road through the town of religion, a man walked up to me and placed his hand on my shoulder and said, “This road you are about to take does not lead to Heaven. If you go, you will be lost forever.”

To which I said, “In order to be lost, I would have to know where I am going, but have no idea how to get there. Yes, sir, it is true that I do not know where this road will lead; but I do know how to get to where I am going.”

The man replied, “That is impossible. How can you know where to go without God guiding you? You are a fool.”

I smiled at the man and slid my foot across the city limit line and onto the road ahead and said, “God is not contained within this town. This invisible line cannot keep God prisoner just for your use only.”

Just then, the caution sign changed before my eyes to: Proceed With Fearlessness. I asked the man if he saw the sign change and he said no. To him, the sign still reflected a warning of caution. It had only changed for me, and suddenly I knew why. Because I had dared to release my fear, the world and its messages began to mirror my new beliefs; changing my view on the world appeared to have an effect on the world itself.

The man did not understand this and backed away from me with a look of terror; he warned me over and over, but I looked out across the new landscape before me and just knew everything was going to be all right. The more steps I took away from the town, the lighter my shoulders felt; the more freely my heart beat. I began to feel all my current knowledge expand around me. I could tell I was outside of the box.

That’s when a woman appeared next to me. She was also a traveler, but had left her town many foot-steps ago. She told me of her many adventures and of all the people she had met that helped her along the way. She showed me things that my training had taught me were impossible. I discovered that the very atmosphere around me contained all of the riches and knowledge I could ever want. I found out that in order to live a life of greatness; all I had to do was know I was great.
She said, “If you chase greatness, you will not find it because you will be chasing something externally that already exists within yourself. That would be like a dog chasing its own tail.”

I understood. Nothing exists outside of me. Everything is internal. Looking outside of myself for something is like looking into a void. I am completely self-contained. I asked my new friend, “Doesn’t that seem narcissistic?”

And she said, “Only to those who believe they are less than they really are. People simply aren’t realizing the secret of all things; if a person wishes to create something, one has only to realize that creation is not required, since all of creation is finished.”

“Say again?”

“Your chosen reality is sort of like playing Grand Theft Auto, or any other game for that matter," the woman began. "The game program contains every possible move the player can make; every street, every character, ever visual effect, every sound – everything. And although the player has no idea what is around the next corner, or what curve will be thrown their way during the game, the game program already contains the answers to all of the game’s mysteries. Nothing is unknown. The game wasn’t partially completed and left for the player to finish.

"Then, when the game is inserted into the computer, the game is read from front to back. The game disc does not keep secrets from the computer. From this analogy, the computer is like the soul, the game is the reality, and the player is your body; (our body being clueless most of the time, but still having fun in the process).

"Does this help you? We are all on the one path of a finished creation, selecting different realities within it along the way. But no matter which reality is selected, the soul, which is the real you, already knows that everything will turn out okay in the end.”

I said, “That is amazing."

And she said, “If you change the way you believe, the change will be unbelievable.”
